387 works and projects registred

This is an unprecedented score: 387 participants from more than 30 countries! A myriad of independent studios, original creations from France Culture, ARTE Radio, RTS, ACSR and the best radio and sound factories in Europe and beyond. We sincerely thank all these authors for their enthusiasm, their commitment and the high quality of the submitted works. This participation confirms the prestige of our event and the attachment expressed by a large community of creators worldwide. It promise us a great moment of sharing listening.

To note on your calendars: this year, the festival takes place in two stages.

First part in Brittany, at Penvenan in the Côtes d’Armor, at the studio Le Logelloù (for documentary selection and field recording) on September 24, 25, and 26, second part in Marseille, at the GMEM_Centre national of musical creation of Marseille (for the categories of sound art, fiction and Pierre Schaeffer discoveries), on November 13 and 14.

In Brittany, the french (and breton) pioneer of radio creation Yann Paranthoën will be celebrated through a pedestrian sound tour guided by excerpts from his works deployed on the Grande Island, and by two original creations in tribute to the exceptional “sound composer” that he was, signed by Annabelle Brouard and Hervé Birolini. Detailed of the programming here.

In Brittany and in Marseille, the friendliness and quality of the welcome from our partners will immerse us in a joyfully radiophilic atmosphere. As usual, the juries will discuss and draw up their winners’ list live. At the end of this patient process, 5 Prizes and 5 Residencies will reward the best achievements and the most exciting projects in terms of fiction, soundscape, situational or staging of reality, or even archiving of speech.

This edition will be marked by the presence of self-fiction, attention to nature, fantasy, and science fiction as well.

After the two events, the winning works will be broadcast by the international network of EBU (European Broadcasting Union) radios. They will also integrate the sound archives of the BnF’s Audiovisual department.

Our pre-selection committee is at work until the end of July. We will reveal the rest very soon! But we already invite you to organize and confirm your stay in Brittany or Marseille.
